The San Diego Comic Con, also known as SDCC to many fans around the world, is the biggest event in the geek diary by far. The mix of celebrity panels, exclusive movie footage, workshops, movie collectibles memorabilia and the overall atmosphere have become the stuff of modern pop culture legend. It is paradise for film and comic geeks, and many of the attendees that visit SDCC each year have flown there from all over the globe.

Year in, year out, the biggest films and TV shows in the industry are unveiled with exclusive footage and news from the directors, cast and crew themselves. This year is no different. If anything, the 2009 SDCC is the biggest yet, with some of the most highly anticipated films, comics and collectibles getting their first real exposure at the event.

More and more women's prisons are turning to beauty pageants as a way to boost morale. The pageants are mostly held in Latin America and Russia.

Pageants with names like Miss Prison and Miss Captive won't get you any time off for good behavior, but prison officials say they actually do reduce violence and get women to think about what they want to do when they get out.
